IPS Slats are manufactured from the highest quality High Density Polyethylene, a high impact, high strength plastic. This material complies with FDA regulation CFR 177.1630 for use in contact with food.

  • Handle slats with the same care that you would for any other precision component.
  • Avoid dropping, hitting or banging the Slats against hard objects. (Dents or burrs may affect the tablet handling characteristics)
  • Do not use sharp metal objects to scrape, clean or remove broken product. The machined surfaces could become damaged affecting the slat performance.
  • Use care when installing slats on the filler. Do not force slats on to the carrying pins. The slats should fit snuggly, but not tightly.
  • Install tongue and groove slats with the tongue facing you. All slats are marked with the letter ‘L’ on the left side for proper orientation.
  • Remove slats carefully so as not to damage the carrying pin holes.
  • Store slats on a flat smooth surface taking care not to damage the machined surfaces.
  • Store slats in a temperature controlled environment about 70°F, ±5°F. When stacking, we recommend using cardboard or Kraft paper between layers.
  • We recommend cleaning the slats in an IPS Slat Washer. Alternately a soft nonabrasive brush and warm soapy water of less than 110°F. Alcohol may also be used.
  • Repeated exposure to high temperatures, followed by cooling will cause slats to acquire a permanent set, shrinking them to where they will no longer fit on to the chain carrying pins.

IMPORTANT: MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR WASHING/DRYING SLATS SHOULD NOT EXCEED 120°F.
WASH NEW SLATS BEFORE FIRST USE!
